Captcha from Beyond: free Halloween attention game in a fake human check

A quick check that you're human. It starts with traffic lights, then asks you to select the squares where someone is watching you.

What is Captcha from Beyond?

Prove you're human. Tick the box, select the traffic lights, the bicycles. Then the grids get stranger: the images where someone is watching you, every box that is not a door, the squares you'll remember tomorrow. Each grid still has one right answer, so read every word and look closely. The check stays very polite to the end.

Captcha from Beyond is a free Halloween game shaped like the little "prove you're human" check you meet on websites. It starts normal: tick the box, select the traffic lights, the bicycles, the fire hydrants. Then the grids get stranger: the images where someone is watching you, every box that is not a door, the squares you'll remember tomorrow, the clocks showing the hour it is right now.

However odd the instruction, every grid has one clear right answer, so it is a real attention test: read the whole sentence, spot the small difference (open eyes or closed, a door or a wardrobe), and remember that "none" is sometimes the answer. At the end, the check thanks you very politely and admits it still isn't sure you're human.

How to play

Tick the box
Confirm you are a human. The check would like to see for itself.
Read every word
Each grid asks for something. Select the matching squares, then press Verify (or V). "Not" and "none" matter.
Keys and touch
Tap a square, or press 1 to 9 on a 3×3 grid. Arrows move between squares, Space ticks.
Score
20 per right square, −15 per wrong one, +50 for a perfect grid plus up to 50 for speed. A grid with a slip or a miss costs one of 3 humanity points.

Scoring

Each right square scores 20 points and each wrong one takes 15. A perfect grid adds 50, plus up to 50 for speed when there's a clock.

A grid with a wrong square or a missed one costs one of 3 humanity points. Beginner plays 8 grids without a clock, Intermediate 10 with a clock, Expert 12 big grids with a faster one. Your best score is kept in this browser for each level.

What it trains

Careful reading
Catching the "not" and the "none" before acting.
Visual search
Scanning a grid row by row and spotting small differences.
Short-term memory
Remembering which squares glowed for a second.

Strategy and tips

Read to the last word
"Not a door" and "there may be none" flip the whole grid.
Scan in rows
Go left to right, top to bottom, so you never check a square twice or skip one.
Look for the one difference
Sleeping cats and portraits have closed eyes; wardrobes and fridges are not doors.
Watch the glow
On memory grids, say the glowing squares' positions in your head: top left, middle, bottom right.
Verify with a calm pause
One second to recheck beats a lost humanity point.

Why play Captcha from Beyond?

Careful reading and visual search are everyday skills: forms, settings screens, contracts, spreadsheets. Captcha from Beyond trains both in two to four minutes, with a joke at the end instead of a fine.

How do the clock grids know the time?

They read the hour on your own device, in your browser. Nothing is sent.
