SkillXGames is an original creation. This page sets out what belongs to its publisher, which few third-party elements are used under their licence, and what you may and may not do with the content.
Owner of the rights
SkillXGames (skillxgames.com) and its content are created and published by Angéline Poitout, sole trader, France (SIRET 82447517200022), also the publisher of SkillxTube. Full details are in the legal notice.
What is original to SkillXGames
Unless stated otherwise below, everything on SkillXGames was made for SkillXGames and belongs to its publisher:
- The games and their code. Every game was written for SkillXGames; no game code was copied from another game.
- The art and the characters. Card art, pixel art, the Community town, its characters and creatures were drawn for SkillXGames and SkillxTube, mostly as SVG and pixel art. No image was taken from the web.
- The music and the sounds. Original music and sound effects, most of them generated in the code.
- The texts. Game texts, questions, riddles, guides, FAQs and articles are original writing.
- The names and the brand. The SkillXGames and SkillxTube names, logos and characters.
The site's version history keeps a dated record of when each game, image and text was created.
Third-party elements used under licence
A few building blocks come from others and are used under their own licences, which allow this use:
- Fonts: Geist, Geist Mono, Inter, Nunito, Pixelify Sans and Silkscreen (SIL Open Font License, via Google Fonts); Satoshi (Indian Type Foundry, ITF Free Font License).
- The Word Rush dictionary is derived from the word-list package by Sindre Sorhus (MIT License); its licence ships with the game.
- Sponsor names and logos belong to the sponsors, shown with their agreement.
Classic games and game ideas
Game rules and mechanics are not owned by anyone. Traditional games such as Klondike, FreeCell, Hearts, Spades, Bridge, Tarot, Belote, Backgammon or memory games are in the public domain; our versions of them, their code and their art, are our own. Names of other games, brands or companies quoted on the site (for example in a trivia question) belong to their owners and are only cited.
Reproduction prohibited
Any reproduction, representation, adaptation, translation, extraction or redistribution of all or part of SkillXGames, by any means and on any medium, is prohibited without the publisher's prior written permission. This covers in particular:
- copying or re-hosting a game, its code or its assets, including in an app, a website or a game portal;
- reusing the characters, the art, the music or the sounds;
- copying the guides, questions, riddles or other texts, including to train or feed software;
- scraping the site or its data;
- using the SkillXGames or SkillxTube names and logos in a way that suggests a link with us.
Under the French Intellectual Property Code (articles L.122-4 and L.335-2), an unauthorised reproduction is infringement (contrefaçon) and may lead to civil and criminal action. The same protection applies in other countries under the Berne Convention.
