Repurpose Machine: free game to learn content repurposing

One long video, five platforms. Turn it into the right format for each.

What is Repurpose Machine?

A creator's 25-minute video goes into the machine and five made-up platforms come out: a full-screen video feed, a carousel feed, a text timeline, a career network and an idea board. Set the shape, length, captions and opening hook for each one.

Repurpose Machine is a free social media game about content repurposing. A creator's long video goes into the machine, and five made-up platforms come out: ClipTok's full-screen feed, a Snapgram carousel, a Chirpr thread, a Deskfeed career post and a Pinpad idea pin.

For each platform you set four dials: the shape of the post, its length, the caption style and the hook, picked from real moments of the video. Each platform card says how people use that app, and every answer explains why the setting fits.

How to play

Read the platform
Each made-up app says how people use it: full-screen swipes, saving carousels, reading at work with the sound off, searching for ideas.
Set 4 dials
Shape (aspect ratio), length, caption style and the hook: which moment of the video opens the post.
Export
25 points per right dial, +40 if all four, up to +20 for speed. Two wrong dials or the clock cost one of 3 lives.
Three videos
Each new video adds an option to every dial and shortens the clock.

Scoring

Each export scores 25 per right dial, plus 40 when all four are right and up to 20 for speed.

Two wrong dials or running out of time cost one of 3 lives. Each new video adds an option to every dial and shortens the clock.

What it trains

Platform formats
Matching aspect ratio and length to how each app is used.
Sound-off thinking
Choosing captions, subtitles or text for people who scroll muted.
Choosing the hook
Picking which moment of a long video opens each post.

Strategy and tips

Match the screen
Full-screen vertical feeds want 9:16; a landscape clip suits a text timeline; tall pins stand out on idea boards.
Cut to the habit
Short and tight where people swipe fast, a little longer where they watch to learn, one image where they click through.
Plan for sound off
Many people scroll muted. Burned-in words, subtitles or a written summary keep the message.
Pick the right first moment
A surprising moment for a swipe feed, a numbered promise for a carousel, an opinion for a text timeline, the result for a search board.
Never just re-upload
The full video with its slow intro is the same everywhere, and works nowhere.

Why play Repurpose Machine?

Making one strong piece and reshaping it for each platform is how small teams and solo creators keep up. The skill is less about tools and more about knowing how people use each app, which is exactly what each round trains.

Frequently asked questions

Is Repurpose Machine free?

Yes. It is free and runs in your browser, with no download. Signing up is optional.

Are these real apps?

No. ClipTok, Snapgram, Chirpr, Deskfeed and Pinpad are made up, though their habits follow common patterns on social media.

What is an aspect ratio?

The shape of a picture or video, width to height. 9:16 is tall like a phone screen, 16:9 is wide like a TV, 1:1 is square.

Is this the same as Reel Editor Rush?

No. Reel Editor Rush is about trimming and captioning one clip; Repurpose Machine is about fitting the same story to different platforms.
