Prompt Panic: free game to learn how to write a good prompt
The gang needs answers, fast. Pick the right role, context, goal and constraints before the clock runs out.
What is Prompt Panic?
Zip and the gang need answers, fast. Build each prompt from four slots: a role, some context, a goal and constraints. A strong prompt gets a perfect answer; a sloppy one, a disaster.
Prompt Panic turns prompt writing into a race. Each round, a member of the gang needs something precise: a 3-day study plan, a bug report, a 60-second pitch, a recipe with what's left in the fridge. You build the prompt from four slots, and the answer you get depends on how good your prompt is.
Every slot has a strong card, an acceptable one and a classic mistake: flattery instead of a role, off-topic context, a vague goal, contradictory constraints. Several prompts can work, but only a sharp one gets the perfect answer.

- Pick one card per slot. Each slot has a strong card, an OK one and a classic mistake.
- Send
- Send before the clock runs out. See the answer your prompt gets, and why.
- Score
- Card points plus time left. Below 5 of 8, or out of time, you lose a life.
Strategy and tips
- Role sets the voice
- A precise role (a patient tutor, a QA engineer) shapes the tone and the format of the answer.
- Context is facts
- Level, deadline, audience, numbers: the assistant can only use what you give it.
- One clear deliverable
- Ask for the thing you want (a plan, a table, 5 options), not for “help”.
- Measurable limits
- “Under 280 characters” beats “short”. Constraints must not fight each other.
- Read the notes
- After each round, the notes say why a card was weak. That's the real lesson.
Why play Prompt Panic?
Writing a clear request is a core digital skill: the same four ingredients make a good prompt, a good email to a colleague and a good brief to a freelancer. Prompt Panic trains the reflex to give a role, context, a goal and limits every time.
