Notification Settings Ministry: a free game about notification settings
Set up phones so they buzz only for what each person wants, then test a whole day.
What is Notification Settings Ministry?
Citizens of Nowhere bring their phones and say what they want: only messages while studying, comments for the club page, silence during work. Set the switches, the quiet hours and who can reach them, then the Ministry plays back a whole day and shows every buzz.
Notification Settings Ministry is a free game in which citizens of Nowhere bring their phones and say what they want: only messages while studying, comments for the club page, silence during work.
Set the switches (likes, comments, mentions, messages and more), the quiet hours and, on Expert, who can message or mention. Then the Ministry plays back a day of eight notifications and shows each one that buzzed when it shouldn't, or stayed silent when it should have buzzed.

What it trains
- Systems thinking
- Turning a goal into several settings that work together.
- Testing
- Checking the result against the goal and fixing one part.
Strategy and tips
- Start from off
- Every switch starts on. Turn off what the person didn't ask for, rather than hunting for what to keep.
- What, who, when
- Read the goal in three parts: which kinds, from whom, and at what time.
- Use the replay
- The day shows exactly which setting was wrong. Fix that one part next time.
Why play Notification Settings Ministry?
Notifications are a system: a few switches decide hours of attention. Setting them on purpose, then checking the result, is how you get your focus back.
