What is Micronation Startup?
You found the Free Republic of Bobbington on a floating platform. Write a constitution, publish a budget, hold an election with a turnout of three… or claim the neighbouring buoy and announce a space programme. The World Council counts hype only as far as your credibility can back it.
Micronation Startup is a free satire game: you found the Free Republic of Bobbington on a floating platform and need the World Council of Floating Things to take it seriously.
Each turn you play a move. Constitutions, public budgets and fixed leaks build credibility. Claiming the neighbouring buoy and announcing a space programme (the rocket is a kettle) build hype. The Council only counts hype your credibility can back up.

How to play
- Play
- Each turn, play one of three moves or collect taxes. Moves cost seashells.
- Recognition
- Credibility, plus half your hype, but only the hype your credibility backs up.
- Three levels
- Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, picked before you play: the content and the clock change, and each level keeps its own best score.
- Satire
- Absurd and warm: every country, office, planet and form is made up, and every run ends on a real admin skill.
Scoring
At the end, recognition = credibility + half your hype, counting hype only up to your credibility. Score = recognition × 10, plus 10 per move.
Win by reaching the Council's target: 60, 75 or 85 depending on the level.

- A constitution unlocks the election, and both are worth a lot of credibility.
- Mind the gap
- If hype gets 40 points ahead of credibility, the press laughs and you lose 10 credibility.

- Out of seashells? Collect taxes: +2 budget, a little less hype.
