Cube Unfold: free spatial reasoning game with cube nets
Which net folds into this cube?
What is Cube Unfold?
A paper cube is shown from one corner. Four flat nets sit below, and only one folds into exactly that cube. From level 2 some marks point a way, and their direction must match too.
Cube Unfold is a free spatial reasoning game. A paper cube is shown from one corner, so you can see its top, front and right faces, each with a mark. Below are four flat nets. Only one of them folds into exactly that cube; the other three put a mark on the wrong face, turn it the wrong way, or are a mirror image.
Early levels use marks without a direction (dots, rings, crosses), so you only track which faces touch. From level 2, arrows, triangles and bars appear, and their direction on the cube must match too. Every puzzle is checked by folding the nets exactly in code: one answer, always.

How to play
- Look at the cube
- You see three faces: top, front and right, each with a mark.
- Fold in your head
- Faces that touch on the cube must touch on the net. The printed side faces out.
- Mind the arrows
- From level 2 some marks point a way: arrows, triangles, bars. Their direction must match.
- Climb
- A right answer climbs a level; answering within 20 seconds adds a bonus.
Scoring
A right net scores 40 + 20 × the level, plus up to 20 for answering within 20 seconds. Eight cubes per run.
A right answer climbs a level (more marks with a direction); a wrong one drops a level.
What it trains
- Spatial reasoning
- Folding a flat net into a cube in your head.
- Mental rotation
- Turning the cube to compare it from another angle.
- Attention to detail
- Spotting the one mark that points the wrong way or sits on the wrong face.
Strategy and tips
- Find the touching faces
- The three faces you see share one corner. On the right net, those three cells must fold around one point.
- Opposites never touch
- In a straight row of three cells, the two ends end up on opposite faces.
- Follow an arrow
- Fold one cell at a time and keep track of where the arrow's tip goes.
- Check the turn order
- Top, front, right go around the corner in one direction; a mirror net reverses it.
- Rule out fast
- Find one mismatch and move on: you only need the net with none.
Why play Cube Unfold?
Folding shapes in your head is a core spatial skill used in geometry, design, packaging and engineering. Cube nets are a compact way to practise it, with a clear right answer every time.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cube Unfold free?
Yes. It is free and runs in your browser, with no download. Signing up is optional.
Is there always exactly one right net?
Yes. Each net is folded in code and compared with the cube from every angle: one matches, three don't.
How is the score counted?
A right answer scores 40 + 20 × the level, plus up to 20 for answering within 20 seconds. Eight cubes per run.
Is this an IQ test?
No. It's a spatial training game with a progress score and a level, not a test or a measure.
