Bio Builder: free social media game to write a profile bio
One line to say who you are and why to follow. Make it count.
What is Bio Builder?
Ten made-up creators need a profile bio that turns visitors into followers. Pick the bio that says who they are, why to follow and what to do next under the app's character limit, or spot the job a bio forgets.
Bio Builder is a free social media game about the most-read line on any profile: the bio. Ten made-up creators, from a night-shift nurse who cooks to a bike mechanic who teaches repairs, each need one short line that turns a curious visitor into a follower. Pick the bio that does all three jobs: say who you are, give a reason to follow, and offer one clear next step, all under the app's character limit.
Later rounds flip it around: you see one bio and say what it forgets. Is the person missing, is there no promise for the visitor, is the call to action gone, or does it run past the limit? After every answer, each bio is explained, so you learn to spot filler, brags and vague labels fast.

What it trains
- Profile optimisation
- Say who you are, why to follow and what to do next in one line.
- Concise writing
- Cut greetings and filler words to fit a character limit.
- Reader-first thinking
- Tell a promise for the visitor apart from a fun fact about yourself.
Strategy and tips
- Who first
- One role is enough: "Physio" or "Bike mechanic" tells people who's talking and why to trust them.
- Promise something
- Why follow is about the visitor: "15-minute dinners for tired people", not "coffee addict".
- One next step
- A free guide, a class, a newsletter: one call to action beats a list of links.
- Watch the counter
- Greetings, "I share" and words like "actually" eat characters without adding meaning.
- Facts aren't promises
- "12 marathons" says who you are. It doesn't say what a beginner gets from following.
Why play Bio Builder?
A profile bio is read in a second or two, often by someone deciding whether to follow. Writing one line that covers who, why and what next is a small version of a big skill: saying the most useful thing in the fewest words, for the reader rather than for yourself. It works for creator profiles, business pages, job sites and even email signatures.

Are the creators and apps real?
