Note-Taking Ninja: free note-taking game for students
Catch the key points of a lecture before it scrolls away.
What is Note-Taking Ninja?
Three short lectures, on topics like the water cycle, photosynthesis or volcanoes, scroll up the chalkboard one line at a time. Tap the lines worth writing down (definitions, numbers, examples and conclusions) and skip the filler. Then use your notes to pick the summary that keeps the main idea with the facts right.
Note-Taking Ninja is a free back-to-school game about taking good notes. A short lecture, on the water cycle, photosynthesis, percentages, volcanoes or sound, scrolls up a chalkboard one line at a time. Tap the lines worth writing down before they disappear: definitions, numbers, examples and conclusions.
Real lectures are full of everything else too: admin, side stories, repeats and thinking aloud. Tapping filler costs a life. At the end of each lecture, use the notes you caught to pick the one-sentence summary that keeps the main idea and gets every fact right.

What it trains
- Spotting what matters
- Definitions, numbers, examples and conclusions are the lines worth writing down.
- Ignoring the noise
- Admin, side stories and repeats are part of every lecture, and none of them belong in your notes.
- Summarising
- One sentence that keeps the main idea and gets the facts right.
Strategy and tips
- Listen for "is" and "means"
- "Evaporation is…", "Percent means…": that's a definition, write it down.
- Grab every number
- Percentages, temperatures and speeds are the first things to fade from memory.
- Notice "So…"
- Teachers often start the conclusion with "So". It's the line that ties everything together.
- Let the stories go
- A teacher's lost umbrella is fun, but it won't be in the test.
- Check the summary against your notes
- The wrong summaries often swap a term or change a number.
Why play Note-Taking Ninja?
Taking notes isn't writing everything down: it's choosing. Spotting what matters while someone talks, and then boiling it down to one sentence, is a skill that helps in every class, meeting and video lesson.
Frequently asked questions
Is Note-Taking Ninja free?
Yes. It is free and runs in your browser, with no download. Signing up is optional.
What happens if I miss a key point?
Nothing bad: you just don't get its points. It's shown after the lecture so you can see what you missed.
Are the facts correct?
Yes. Each lecture sticks to textbook basics, like 97 percent of Earth's water being in the oceans or sound travelling about 340 metres per second in air.
Can I play with a keyboard or a screen reader?
Yes. Keys 1 to 4 tap the lines on the board, every line is a button, and each new line is announced.
