Quick tips

• Listen for "is" and "means". "Evaporation is…", "Percent means…": that's a definition, write it down.
• Grab every number. Percentages, temperatures and speeds are the first things to fade from memory.
• Notice "So…". Teachers often start the conclusion with "So". It's the line that ties everything together.
• Let the stories go. A teacher's lost umbrella is fun, but it won't be in the test.
• Check the summary against your notes. The wrong summaries often swap a term or change a number.
