Engagement Farm: a free game about rage bait
Run a rage-bait page: outrage pays in coins, until the fact-checkers arrive. Know when to stop.
What is Engagement Farm?
You run a page that turns boring local news into outrage. Honest headlines pay little, twisted ones pay in angry clicks and heat up the fact-checkers. Bank enough coins and walk away before someone checks the sources.
Engagement Farm is a free satire game. You run a page that turns boring local stories into outrage: a repainted bench becomes a scandal, a late bus becomes the death of public transport.
Each day you pick a headline. Honest ones pay little; twisted and false ones pay in angry clicks and heat up the fact-checkers. The end screen names every trick you used, so you'll recognise them in your own feed.

How to play
- Post
- Pick one of three headlines a day: honest 20 coins, twisted 70, false 130.
- Heat
- Twisted and false headlines add fact-check heat. At 100, the page is flagged and 90% of the coins go.
- Three levels
- Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, picked before you play: the content and the clock change, and each level keeps its own best score.
- Satire
- Satire with a lesson: every name, brand and platform is made up, and every run ends on how to spot the trick.
Scoring
Your score is your outrage coins: 20 per honest headline, 70 per twisted one, 130 per false one. Get fact-checked (100 heat) and 90% of the coins go.
A run wins when you close the page (or survive) with the level's coin goal. Your best score is kept in this browser.
What it trains
- Spotting rage bait
- Twisted framing, made-up quotes, invented stats.
- Risk sense
- Knowing when to stop.
Strategy and tips
- Push, then stop
- Coins add up fast, but one false headline too many and the page is flagged. Closing the page is a valid move.
- Watch the cool-down
- Heat drops a little every day: honest days let it settle.
- Learn the tricks
- False comparisons, made-up quotes and “nobody is talking about this” are the patterns to remember.
Why play Engagement Farm?
Outrage spreads faster than facts. Writing rage bait in a game makes it much easier to spot when someone writes it for you.
