Quick tips

• Check the year. Many "not" claims are a real trend with the wrong year. Words and colours of the year change every December.
• Check the source. Oxford, Cambridge, Collins, Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com each pick their own word.
• Spot the made-up name. Invented trends sound plausible but never come with a creator, a song or a place you've heard of.
• Ride the combo. Three right in a row doubles your points. Don't rush a claim you're unsure about.
• Read the answer. Each answer tells the real story, which makes the next run easier.
