Gambler's Fallacy Slots

An honest practice machine: three reels, five symbols, and a 1 in 25 chance on every spin. Spin or watch a free demo spin, then answer a question built from what just happened. A 10,000-spin study shows the win rate after long dry runs.

How to play

Spin or watch. Spin for 1 fictional chip or watch a free demo spin. Watching never costs points.
Bust the myth. After every spin, a question about streaks, dry runs and chances.
Check the history. The strip and the 10,000-spin study show what really happens after losses.
Score. 100 per right answer, plus your expected chips: decisions count, luck doesn't.

Quick tips

Machines don't remember. Each spin is independent. A long dry run doesn't make a win closer.
Chances don't add up. Ten spins at 4% give about 33.5% for at least one win, not 40%.
Rare pairs multiply. Two wins in a row is 1/25 × 1/25 = 1 in 625.
Hot and cold are stories. A recent win or loss tells you nothing about the next spin.
Expect to lose a little. Each 1-chip spin gives back 0.8 chips on average: the machine keeps 20%.
