Inbox Triage: free email prioritisation game (Eisenhower matrix)
Fifteen emails land in bursts. Sort each one: Urgent, Delegate, Later or Delete. Then see the right call for every email.
What is Inbox Triage?
Monday, 9:00, and your inbox fills up in bursts. Sort fifteen emails into Urgent, Delegate, Later or Delete before the clock runs out. At the end, every call is explained.
Inbox Triage is a free prioritisation game. It's Monday morning, you lead a small marketing team, and fifteen emails land in bursts: a client launch with a broken link, a typo on the pricing page, a training due next month, a prize you never entered. Sort each one into Urgent, Delegate, Later or Delete before the clock runs out.
The four trays follow the Eisenhower matrix: important and urgent (do it now), urgent but better handled by someone else (delegate), important but not urgent (schedule it) and neither (delete). At the end you review all fifteen calls, with the reason for each.

How to play
- Read
- The oldest email opens first: sender, subject and the first lines.
- Sort
- Urgent if it's important and due now, Delegate if someone else is better placed, Later if it matters but can wait, Delete if it's noise. Keys 1 to 4 work too.
- Keep up
- New mail arrives every few seconds. Tap Check mail to pull the next burst early.
- Review
- 100 points per right call, plus a time bonus if you empty the inbox. Then read why for each one.
Strategy and tips
- Two questions
- Is it important to my goals? Does it need doing today? The answers pick the tray.
- Only you?
- If someone else can do it as well or better, delegate, even if it's quick.
- Later is not never
- Important, not urgent work is where real progress happens: block time for it.
- Deadlines hide in the text
- "By noon", "before 15:00", "or we release it": read the first lines.
- Scams are deletes
- Prizes you never entered and rushed payment requests go straight to the bin.
Why play Inbox Triage?
An inbox mixes fires, favours, future work and noise. Sorting fast and right is a core work skill: it protects your focus for what only you can do, and stops important things from turning into emergencies.
